Significant work has been undertaken to revise and reconceptualize the required core 'Foundations of Art History’ course for the History of Art and Architecture major. The course has been newly approved to meet the writing requirement for the Dietrich School, and it must now also meet the learning objectives of the new Museum Studies major. In this process, we responded to the following questions: How can this foundational course advance the department’s commitment to anti-racist teaching? What skills and capabilities do these two majors share? We are eager to share our work in progress.
