Why Aren’t We There Yet? The Ongoing Efforts to Build a More Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Architecture Industry - Colloquium

Wednesday, March 10, 2021 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Speaker: Emily Pierson-Brown, AIA, AICP, LEED Green Associate

Emily Pierson-Brown, architect and urban planner with Perkins Eastman and adjunct instructor for Architecture Studio 3, will expand on the HAA architecture students’ recent Design Justice Initiative by providing an industry-wide context for the critical need for a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field of architecture. Her presentation will include an exploration of her work rebooting Women+ in Design Pittsburgh and other initiatives that challenge the inherently inequitable systems in the design professions and in architecture specifically.
