“Serigrafía en el barrio: The Royal Chicano Air Force’s Activist Education” will present in-progress research in advance of a paper presentation at the Latin American Studies Association Conference this summer. This presentation articulates the role of screen printing in the work of the Royal Chicano Air Force as foundational to the Sacramento-based collective’s pedagogy. Central to this pedagogy is the Barrio Art Program, an arts education project started by the RCAF as part of the art department and Chicano Studies program at California State University, Sacramento.
