Taking inspiration from artist Greer Lankton’s work, the Center for Creativity will lead a pop-up dollmaking workshop in the UAG. This event is presented to coincide with the latest exhibition at the UAG, Greer Lankton: Science Fictions, open until December 9.
The work of trans artist Greer Lankton, from her artist’s book Medical Magic to her elaborate, unsettling dolls, explored and challenged ideas about the body and self-invention. For this workshop, staff from the University Counseling Center will facilitate conversation about the ways we perceive ourselves and others. Then we’ll get hands-on to create dolls of our own. No previous art experience is necessary to participate. Because of the nature of this workshop, space is limited.
