The History of Art and Architecture is pleased to announce Bryan Keene's Talk, Gender, Sexuality, and Race in a Global Middle Ages, occurring on Monday, January 31 from 5:30-7pm via Zoom!

Medieval art provides rich evidence of ideas about gender, sexuality, and race. Through a series of case studies of objects and exhibitions, this talk will share reflections about lessons learned when presenting these subjects in the classroom and in museum galleries.

About the Speaker:
Bryan Keene holds a PhD from The Courtauld Institute of Art and was a curator at the J. Paul Getty Museum from 2013 to 2020.  He is currently Assistant Professor of Art History at Riverside City College and co-curator of the exhibition The Fantasy of the Middle Ages, opening at the Getty in June 2022.
