Annual Cultural Studies Open House

Cultural Studies students and faculty, and fellow travelers are cordially invited to the Annual Cultural Studies Open House and 2019 Common Seminar Inaugural Lecture, this year given by Terry Smith, Andrew W Mellon Professor of Contemporary Art History and Theory, Henry Clay Frick Department of the History of Art and Architecture, at the University of Pittsburgh.  Professor Smith is the author several books, most recently Art to Come: Histories of Contemporary Art (Duke UP 2019).  The Seminar topic he will introduce is entitled, WHAT IS THE WORLD’S QUESTION? LONG HISTORIES, CONCURRENT POLITICS. Read more about the seminar here.

The reception will take place from 5:00 - 5:30 pm with the lecture by Professor Smith following at 5:30 pm in the Humanities Center (602 Cathedral of Learning).  This event is for graduate students and faculty only.
