On April 8, 2022, Marisol Villela Balderrama will speak at the Global Sixties in the Global South, an international conference hosted by the Stony Brook University. Titled “The Travels of Latin American Women Artists to China, 1952-1965,” Balderrama’s presentation charts the route of six women artists from Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, and Mexico who visited and exhibited their work in China during the first decades after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
