Lydia Davis

Biography

Lydia Davis (she/her) holds a B.A. in Art History with High Honors from Dartmouth College, where she completed a thesis project titled, “A Seat in the Kingdom: Resituating the Work of Bessie Harvey Within Contemporary Art History”. She is interested in folk art and the resonances of contemporary Black life that emerge at the intersection of diasporic visual traditions. She has assisted the curation of the exhibition Homecoming: Domesticity and Kinship in Global African Arts with Dr. Alexandra Thomas at the Hood Museum of Art and has worked on the curatorial and educational teams of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Lydia is a first-year PhD student, and a K. Leroy Irvis Fellow for the 2025–2026 year
