Angelina Medina

Biography

Angelina Medina studies contemporary Latinx art, with a special focus on Nuyorican art. She is particularly interested in photography and issues of gender and representation. She co-curated Rose Salane: Periphery in Red, Yellow, Blue (2025) and Magali Lara: Interior Landscapes (2024) at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Before pursuing her PhD at the University of Pittsburgh, she graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Art History & Arts Administration and Spanish & French Language Studies from Macaulay Honors College and then achieved an M.A. in the History of Art and Architecture at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. She has held positions at the Acadian Museum of the University of Moncton, the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), the Jewish Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
