Isaiah Bertagnolli (Ph.D. 2025) has partnered with contemporary art space Tinworks Art in Bozeman, Montana, for the fourth season of "Art! With Dr. Ike, Ph.D." This season will take place once a month from July to October as programming for Tinworks' exhibit "Chisel and Razor Acts I & II." This exhibit features contemporary artists responding to the legacy of sculptor Edmonia Lewis and her brother Samuel, who was a barber and community leader in Bozeman. The first episode will explore Devan Shimoyama's barbershop series with each episode moving backwards in time to Edmonia Lewis and her contemporaries.
Previously, Bertagnolli has done three month-long runs of the show at Last Best Comedy in Bozeman on topics like memorializing Hiroshima, Greer Lankton, art and outer space, and conservative art. Almost 60 audience members attended a show on nuclear energy and design. This fourth season marks the show's first collaboration with an arts institution.
