Research

The department of HAA has long had a strong culture of research, but in recent years our productivity has been especially impressive. In the past several years the faculty has published a string of major books and won multiple book awards. The graduate students have established a national symposium and a new journal entitled Contemporaneity, in addition to producing their own published research and conference papers. Undergraduate research achievements have also multiplied and are now featured in an annual showcase event.

Beginning in 2011, the department is launching an exciting new framework of collaborative, intra- and interdisciplinary research organized around a set of six constellations. Over the next year we will be integrating this framework into curriculum, programming, and new research initiatives.
