Frank Toker named Distinguished Professor of Art History, Architecture and Archeology

We are very pleased to announce that Frank Toker has been named Distinguished Professor of Art History, Architecture and Archeology!  A wonderful teacher and colleague, Professor Toker is also recognized internationally for his many outstanding publications on the history of architecture.  Among these are his Fallingwater Rising: Frank Lloyd Wright, E. J. Kaufmann, and America's Most Extraordinary House, published by Knopf in 2003, which has now gone through seven printings and revised paperback editions; his many books on Pittsburgh, including his award-winning Pittsburgh: A New Portrait, published by University of Pittsburgh Press in 2009; and, among his most recent works and ongoing projects, a magisterial series of volumes on Florence Cathedral published by Brepols.  These include On Holy Ground: Liturgy, Architecture, and Urbanism in the Cathedral and the Streets of Medieval Florence (2009); Archaeological Campaigns below the Florence Duomo and Baptistery, 1895-1980 (2012); and Reconstructing the Cathedral and Baptistery of Florence in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages (2016).
