"The University Art Gallery: An Overview"

Isabelle Chartier, University Art Gallery

Constellation: Visual Knowledge

The University Art Gallery in the Frick Fine Arts Building owns a valuable collection of nearly 3,000 objects, comprised of works on paper, sculptures and paintings from various periods and cultures. The collection is used for research and exhibitions, and provides intellectual content relevant to the teaching programs of the University. Some of the programs that participate in the UAG are the Museum Studies Seminar and the internship program for undergraduate students.

We aim to introduce the permanent collection to those who might not be familiar with it, highlighting major works and groups of works that make the collection a valuable asset for research and teaching. We will also discuss challenges and projects for the next years to come.
