Jenny Li Jun Liu

Jenny Liu graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a BA in English. In her senior year she decided to switch majors and received an MA in Art History from the University of Iowa in 2007. Her thesis, "Placing Fiction," views Patty Chang's video installation Shangri-La (2005), using a postmodern lens, as a collaborative, site-specific work of art that ultimately, and transgressively, calls conventions of artistic practice—community based or otherwise—into question. Liu will continue her study of contemporary art—more specifically, new media/digital art—with Professor Terry Smith.
