Fellowships, Grants, and Other Opportunities

There is a lot of money available to students at all stages of their careers but you need to establish a pattern of looking and a list of the opportunities that suit your long-term needs, along with their requirements and deadlines.  In the early stages of your career you will need to look to University funding and particularly opportunities to fund language study (e.g. FLAS and Nationality Room Fellowships); in your first year of post-MA study, you will need to focus on travel grants and longer term research support; by the time you complete your PhD exams, you will need to apply for grants and fellowships on a national level.

This page does not presume to meet all of your needs but it will get you started.  If you find other things, tell us so that we can add them.
